Well Testing is a fundamental course that provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to evaluate reservoir and well performance through pressure-transient analysis. The course introduces the principles of data acquisition, interpretation methods, and the use of well test results to estimate key reservoir parameters such as permeability, skin factor, and boundary conditions. Emphasis is placed on understanding flow regimes, designing and analyzing different types of tests (drawdown, buildup, and interference), and integrating well test data with other reservoir information to support field development and production optimization.
By the end of the course, students will be able to design appropriate well tests, interpret pressure and rate data, and apply diagnostic tools to characterize reservoir behavior and assess well productivity.
