Course Description:

This course provides a solid foundation in Image Analysis and Processing, its essential role in modern science.

Targeted Audience

This course is dedicated to the 4th AI Engineer.

 
Prerequisites:
  • Foundations of Python programming
  • Basic linear algebra
  • Basic probability and statistics
Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand digital image representation and grayscale/color models
  2. Compute and interpret image histograms and cumulative distribution functions
  3. Apply histogram-based enhancement techniques such as contrast stretching and histogram equalization
  4. Perform image thresholding and basic segmentation
  5. Implement spatial filtering (smoothing, sharpening) using convolution
  6. Analyze and process images programmatically using Python
Evaluation:

Quiz and class presentation: 50%
Exam: 60%
