
Course Summary
This module introduces students to the fundamental principles and practical approaches of occupational risk prevention within various industrial and professional environments.
It focuses on understanding, analyzing, and controlling workplace hazards that may affect workers’ health, safety, and well-being.
Through a combination of theoretical lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, students will explore specific occupational risks such as work at height, confined spaces, handling of gases, welding, heat and cold stress, exposure to hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), and hygiene issues in the food and healthcare sectors.
The module emphasizes regulatory frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and preventive strategies such as hazard elimination, substitution, engineering controls, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
