This module provides an introduction to the principles of casing design and primary cementing, focusing on well integrity and safe drilling practices. Students learn how to select and design casing strings based on formation conditions, pressure profiles, and API strength criteria for burst, collapse, and tension. The course also covers the fundamentals of cement slurry design, cement additives, and the equipment and procedures used in primary cementing operations. Emphasis is placed on casing support, zonal isolation, and the evaluation of cement placement using standard industry logging tools.
