Written comprehension and expression

The Written Comprehension & Expression module is a foundational academic writing course for first-year English LMD students that develops essential skills for effective academic and professional communication in English. Delivered over two semesters, it combines theoretical knowledge with practical writing practice, beginning with grammar and sentence construction and progressing to paragraph development and different writing types such as descriptive, narrative, argumentative, and expository. Designed within the LMD system, the course gradually builds students’ linguistic and academic competencies, helping them organize ideas, use correct structures, and maintain coherence and formal tone. Overall, the module prepares students to write with greater clarity, accuracy, and confidence for future academic and professional tasks.
