At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Improve their knowledge of electrical production and transmission systems through the different types of electrical networks.
2. Understand the importance of interconnecting transmission networks between neighboring countries to ensure the stability and continuity of service across the entire network, even in the presence of anomalies in the power system, while considering the economic benefits.
3. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the operation of electrical production and transmission systems at the national and regional levels. Learn how to maintain the balance between supply and demand while ensuring stability, reliability, and continuity of service, and keeping frequency and voltage within required limits.
4. Understand the operation of control and supervision systems for transmission networks through measurement and monitoring devices that provide real-time updates on the system status via the SCADA interface.
5. Effectively respond when the power system faces various incidents in order to restore stability and ensure service continuity using defense and backup mechanisms.
