This course aims to provide students with fundamental and applied knowledge of hydrogeology and its importance in petroleum systems. It introduces the behavior of groundwater in sedimentary basins, the mechanisms controlling abnormal pressures, the hydrogeological indicators of hydrocarbon accumulations, and the environmental implications associated with petroleum hydrogeology.
