This second-year course in reading and text analysis strengthens students’ ability to interpret, evaluate, and communicate insights about a wide range of Texts. Focusing on a plethora of genres ranging from administrative to literary texts, the course teaches strategies for close reading, identifying rhetorical structures, and understanding how language, genre, and context shape meaning. Students will analyze arguments, narrative techniques, stylistic choices, and thematic patterns while learning to articulate their interpretations clearly and convincingly. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking skills, expanding academic vocabulary, and engaging thoughtfully with complex materials. Through guided discussions, analytical exercises, and short written responses, students will refine their capacity to recognize nuance, question assumptions, and support claims with textual evidence. By the end of the course, they will be prepared to approach advanced academic texts with confidence and to contribute effectively to scholarly conversations across disciplines
