Understand the formation, structure and composition of the Earth from minerals to rocks.
Identify and classify igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.

• Apply stratigraphic principles and relative/absolute dating methods.
• Interpret structural geology features such as folds and faults.
• Analyze sedimentary basins and their importance in hydrocarbon systems.
• Develop skills for geological interpretation for petroleum and reservoir engineering applications.
