The objective of this course is to provide students with the theoretical foundations of seismology. It first covers a review of wave phenomena, the study of wave amplitude attenuation, and the laws of reflection, refraction, and diffraction, before moving on to the seismic refraction prospecting method—from data acquisition to interpretation.
