Course Description: English Grammar – Parts of Speech (First-Year French Students)

This course introduces first-year students of French to the fundamental parts of English speech, forming a solid foundation for accurate and effective communication in English. Students will explore the main grammatical categories—nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and determiners , through clear explanations and contextualized examples.

Special attention is given to similarities and differences between English and French grammar to help learners avoid common errors and develop grammatical awareness. The course emphasizes practical usage through simple sentences, short texts, and guided activities that integrate grammar with meaning. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify, understand, and correctly use the basic parts of speech in written and spoken English.
