The course of Civilizations of the Target Language is dedicated to second year students of English language and literature in which students will acquire some knowledge about the history and culture of Britain and USA. S3 British civilization course explores the transformation happened in mid-18th to 19th century that shaped contemporary Britain. Other than the Feudal system in Middle Ages Britain discussed in S1, the course looks into those transformations that were brought about by enlightenment, Agricultural and Industrial Revolutions, and the political and social upheavals and reforms of the 19th century. it also discusses the rise and the expansion of the British Empire and its impact on world system today.
