Welcome to the Crystallography course!
Crystallography is the science that studies crystals, their structures, properties, and the laws that govern their formation.
This discipline plays a fundamental role in understanding the solid state of matter, especially minerals, and helps us interpret many geological, chemical, and physical phenomena.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
-
Understand the geometric and structural principles of crystalline matter.
-
Differentiate between crystalline and amorphous solids.
-
Recognize and describe crystal systems and their symmetry.
-
Relate crystal structure to mineral properties and natural formation processes.
