This course introduces the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence (AI) and their applications in Earth Sciences. It covers the historical development of AI, key concepts of machine learning and intelligent systems, and their use in the analysis and modeling of geological, climatic, and environmental data. Particular attention is paid to practical applications and the limitations of AI in the study of Earth systems.
