Study of literary texts

This course of “ Literary Text and Analysis” introduces students to English literature, aiming to trace its development from the Anglo-Saxon period to the early twentieth century. A selection of different literary genres and texts, namely prose, fiction, poetry, and drama will be examined to understand the influence of important events in history and culture on literature. Students will also be introduced to basic literary terms, devices, and techniques, and their necessary relation to the development of the literary works assigned.
