This course follows the Biology I curriculum for first-year LMD Geology students. It explains the principles of animal classification and proposes an organizational plan using five successive criteria. Each of these criteria divides animals into different groups, leading to the nine main phyla (with brief descriptions): Porifera, Cnidaria, Platyhelminthes, Nematoda, Annelida, Mollusca, Arthropoda, Echinodermata, and Chordata
