Teaching objectives: 

This module aims to introduce students to the technologies used to extract hydrocarbons and to explain the path taken by hydrocarbons from porous rock to the processing center or the port. At the end of the course, students should have a good understanding of 1) oilwell production equipment, surface installations, and facilities, 2) operations of hydrocarbon production, like fracturing, acidification, and enhanced oil and gas recovery, and 3) production mechanisms. 

Recommended prerequisites:

This module requires knowledge of petroleum geology, drilling rigs and operations, logging, midlogging, and well testing.
