The objective of the magnetotelluric (MT) method is to map the electrical structure of the Earth's subsurface by measuring natural electric and magnetic fields, in order to determine the distribution of rock resistivity. This technique makes it possible to identify deep geological structures, explore potential mineral deposits, study subsurface fluids, and detect possible geoelectrical anomalies.
This module is intended for Master’s level (M2) students in geophysics.
