This course enables students to gain in-depth scientific knowledge and an understanding of various theories and contemporary research regarding early detection and intervention. It also aims to provide them with insights into holistic child growth and development, as well as child mental health. Furthermore, the course covers the concept of family support and highlights the importance of actively involving the family—specifically the parents—in the care of children with disabilities.

تركز هذه المادة على تزويد الطالب بالمعرفة والمهارات اللازمة لاكتشاف الاضطرابات النمائية لدى الأطفال في مراحلهم المبكرة. تتعلمون كيفية استخدام أدوات الملاحظة والتقييم المبكر لتحديد الصعوبات في الكلام واللغة والحركة والتواصل. كما تركز المادة على استراتيجيات التدخل المبكر المصممة لدعم تطور الطفل وتحسين وظائفه الحسية والحركية واللغوية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تبرز أهمية المرافقة العائلية، حيث يتعلم الطالب كيفية إشراك الأسرة في عملية العلاج، وتقديم التوجيه والدعم لتعزيز قدرات الطفل داخل بيئته اليومية.
